DIY - Raw Honey Liquid Hand Soap

On our homestead hand washing is non negotiable.  Not because we are some anal retentive germaphobic turds who need everything spic and span, but because we literally have turds everywhere.  Between two donkeys, three pigs, two cats, two dogs, two goats, and a couple dozen chickens, actual real life feces can be found..well...everywhere.  We really can't come in from feeding the animals without my daughter bringing us a "present".  That being said, we use a lot of soap.  I think my biggest pet peeve is having to throw/recycle those soap containers after the fact.  It's just so wasteful.  I wanted a way to make hand soap on the spot when I needed it, without all the garbage.  Well thats that.  Here ya go...

DIY RAW HONEY LIQUID HAND SOAP

1/2 Cup Liquid Castille Soap (I use Dr. Bronner Almond Scented)
1/2 Cup Distilled Water
1/4 Cup Raw Honey
2 Tbls Sweet Almond Oil (you can use another oil such as olive, vitamin E, jojoba)
20 - 30 Drop Essential oils - Just throw um in there to your liking (I usually use orange, lavender, and Tea Tree for its disinfectant properties)

Instructions

1) In a mason jar or old soap container place the distilled water with honey and stir until dissolved.(you may want to slightly warm the water).
2) Add the Castille Soap, followed by the essential oils, and Almond oil.
3) Shake Gently, close the top, squirt on your mitts and get washing!

Notes

Whenever introducing water into a solution you run the risk of bacteria.  The Tea Tree and honey will act as an antimicrobial agent, but this soap does have a shelf life.  Soooooo, don't let it sit in your back cabinet for 5 years.

Essential oils are not necessary.  If you are irritated or allergic to any of them PLEASE Omit.

The oils are present to condition and soften the skin, you can take them our of your soap if you so wish.
